The other dog at Old Dutch Cemetery - Surat, India

This was the other stray dog I met at the old Dutch Cemetery at Surat. Looks a lot like a Siberian Husky don't you think ? Was friendly but a little aloof, unlike the white one who trotted behind me as I moved around. This one kept his distance and just before I left he obliged me with this shot, looking dignified and regal!

Dog at Old Dutch Cemetery in Surat

A friendly stray dog that followed me around when I visited the very old Dutch cemetry at the even older coastal trading town of Surat in the State of Gujrat, India. The Dutch and an older Armenian cemetery adjoin each other in the old part of Surat city. These cemeteries are full of history and were lying in a state of disrepair till recently the government started restoration work that seems to be still in progress. The relatively newer British cemetry is a little away and in a better condition. A trading town used by the Dutch and British, today Surat is a textile and diamond processing hub of India.

Spent a few days at a lovely old house in the old part of Surat. It had a lush green garden with traditional flowers like lotus and marigold. And one ducks and poultry. It was good to get away from the hustle and bustle of a large city. The fresh air and silence refreshed body and mind.
