We as a family try to get together at some wildlife reserve/national park towards the end of each year where we spend New Year's eve as this is much better than celebrating the arrival of the New Year at some noisy tourist resort or hotel. This time we were at Kanha National Park on 31-12-11 when we spotted this magnificent tigress. What a lovely New Year's eve present it was!
We also got to see the Gaur (Indian wild buffalo) Sambar deer, the Barasingha (swamp deer), Chittal (spotted deer), lots of Nilgai ("Blue Bull"), Gray Langurs and Rhesus monkeys too, wild boar and a variety of birds. Truly a great wildlife reserve!
